I haven’t made
a resolution in years
January 1 is just
another day

why wait
to reach for
the things you want
in your life?

and yet
this year feels
different somehow
on the cusp of something

perhaps there is
value in grand gestures
and pivot points
with no turning back

the days already
grow longer
while the world
has never felt

more uncertain
wonders surely await
my resolution is
to notice them
